What format should my Giving File be?

Giving files should be uploaded in .csv format with the first row being your header row.

Giving files should be uploaded in .csv format with the first row being your header row. When you upload you will be given the ability to map your columns with the data points that donor io needs to power the charts. GivingDNA requires mapping for the following fields:

  • Donor ID
  • Transaction ID
  • Amount
  • Donation Date

You can optionally provide the following fields, as well:

  • Channel Source

You can have any number of other columns in your Giving File, as long as the required ones are included.

Hi There!

I'm in the process of setting up an analytics tool called GivingDNA that analyzes our fundraising data and I need your help pulling a quick giving report. Can you setup a query of all gifts from our donor database and send that to me in .CSV format? I only need these 5 fields:

  • Transaction ID
  • Donor ID
  • Donation Date
  • Gift Amount
  • Channel Source (optional)
