How do I identify lapsed donors?

Identifying donors who have lapsed is very important as this can be a powerful first step in reengaging donors who may not even realize they have stopped donating.

The following feature is available for Insights Pro customers. If you’d like to unlock this feature, please click here to upgrade.

Opportunity segmentation is one of the many features offered in an Insights Pro Subscription. If you don't have insights pro, you can easily get access by clicking - "upgrade to unlock". If you have Insights Pro, from your segments dashboard, find the boxes under "opportunity segment" and click on the box "Lapsed Donors - 12-18 months"or "Lapsed Donors 18-24 months"

Causemo Insights will load a dashboard view for you filtered to show only lapsed donors 12-18 months or 18-24 months (depending on your selection). Once you have run this segment and can identify who your lapsed donors are, consider:

  • Let them know you miss their support and directly ask them to help the mission
  • Create a cultivation plan reengage with them
  • Survey why they supported in the past (this could remind them to give again, or inform you as to why they are no longer giving)
  • Compare to their channel preferences to see if you're communicating with them on their terms

If you'd like to export this segment and take action with these constituents, click Save.

Then navigate back to your segments dashboard. Scroll to the "Saved Segments" section of the segments dashboard and click the export box for the segment you want to export.

Causemo Insights will take a few moments to process your data and prepare the export. When it is ready you can click download from the actions column at the bottom of your segments dashboard.
